Dying Light 2 won’t launch arreglar – Dying Light 2 has to be one of the most awaited games of 2022, y it is finally here after a million delays. This was announced at the E3 almost 4 years ago. Yes, it has been that long. It was supposed to come out almost 2 years ago. But Techland wanted to make sure that the game doesn’t get “Cyberpunk’d”, when it launches. So, they decided to take more time, y release a more stable version.
Speaking about the game, Dying Light 2 is an Action RPG, developed y published by Techland, set in a zombie apocalyptic-themed open world. It is the direct sequel to the original Dying Light title, from 2015, y the events in this game are taking place 20 years after Dying Light. The City, in which Dying Light 2 is set in, is a massive open world set in Europe that players can explore without restriction. The map is four times larger than the original game, y each of the seven regions has its own landmarks y locations.
This game features an action-packed parkour experience with thousands of unique challenges to complete in each level. You can use parkour to quickly navigate the city, but you’ll also have to master a variety of tools to complete challenges.
Now the question is, being the first big AAA title of 2022, how well does Dying Light 2 hold up. Well, the game is definitely good. I did find some repetitiveness, but that is something that could be easily ignored. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same when it comes to the technical part of the game. I am checking Reddit, I am checking Steam, y it looks like that the PC version of Dying Light 2 has some launch or startup related issues. Dying Light 2 won’t launch for some users. I knew this was coming. Especially, after Techland’s recent tweet:
We kindly ask you to wait until Feb 4th as by that time you’ll also get access to all improvements y fixes we’ve implemented within last weeks y will introduce with the day 1 patch. That’s the way to experience Dying Light 2 the way it’s meant to be played.
This Guía will show you what to do if Dying Light 2 is not launching on your PC. Startup issues are quite common in AAA games now. So, don’t worry, you are not alone.
How to arreglar ‘Dying Light 2 won’t start’ issue for PC
Alright, before we start, I just wanted to clarify one thing. I haven’t faced any launch issue with Dying Light, personally. Furthermore, I have tested the game is 4 different PCs, consisting of processors ranging from i3 8100 to Ryzen 5 5600x, y GPUs ranging from GTX 1650 to RTX 3080. So, I am only posting the fixes that people from the community have tried, y have confirmed that they work.
The first thing you should do, is disable Steam Input for Dying Light 2. This has worked for a lot of users, y surprisingly enough, Steam Input has caused launch issues for many games in the past. Here is what you need to:
- Open Steam y go to your Library
- Right-Click on Dying Light 2, y select Properties
- Firstly, untick “ Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game “
- Secondly, Click on “Controller”, y set “ OVERRIDE FOR DYING LIGHT 2 ” to “Disable Steam Input”
- Restart Steam, once you’re done
If that doesn’t do the job for you, Nvidia has already a new Game Ready Driver on February 1, 2022, that provides optimal support for the Dying Light 2. The version is 511.65. Download y install it manually from here, or via GeForce Experience. Doing this would also arreglar any DirectX or Direct3D errors in Dying Light 2.
For AMD, I did check the “drivers” section on their website. y it looks like, they haven’t released any driver for Dying Light 2, yet. Just come back to this article after few hours, y I will update this space with the latest information y the download link of the driver, as soon as it becomes available.
If updating the drivers don’t end up working for you, here is another thing you can do:
- Go to Steam
* Click on Dying Light 2, from your Library
* Look on the right side of the page, y click on the “Manage” icon from there
* Select Manage > browse local files
- You will now find yourself inside the installation folder of Dying Light 2
- Right-click on DyingLight2.exe, y select “Run as administrator”
- That should do the job
The next thing you can try, is disabling the Real-Time Scanning function or Real-Time Protection function of your Anti-virus, as there is a chance that Dying Light 2 might be silently getting quarantined by the AV software on your system. y it is getting blocked. If you are using Windows Defender as your only Anti-virus. Then just add the DyingLight2.exe file on the exceptions list of Windows Defender.
To find out, if any background application is not letting Dying Light 2 to start. Please disable all programs temporarily, either manually or by performing a clean boot of your system (Plenty of guides available on the internet on how to perform a clean boot). If the issue does not occur after disabling all programs, begin to re-enable them one by 1. Repeat this until you come across the issue again – the last startup item you checked will be the one interfering with your game. Please note that this process will likely lead to disabling the firewall y security software. Once you have finished testing the game, do not forget to re-enable it.
Also try downloading y installing the latest version of Visual Studio, as there’s a chance it hasn’t been installed correctly. Download y install the x64 version. If you are getting errors like “vcruntime140_1.dll missing” or “MSVCP140.dll was not found”, this will arreglar that.
Finally, try uninstalling Dying Light 2, y installing it on a completely different drive.
If none of the fixes mentioned above are working for you, then I would suggest that you contact Techland Support. First, give this article a read, y once you are done, click on “New Support Ticket” from the top, to send a message to the support.
If you think this Guía has helped you, then let us know in the comment section below. Also, if you are facing other problems with the game, then try checking out our other guides on Dying Light 2. Who knows, you might end up finding a arreglar.
That’s all folks!
