Ubisoft recently experienced a cyber security problem, which resulted in a “temporary interruption” of its games. The company has declared that all the games work normally now and have not seen evidence that the personal information of the players looks compromised. However, Ubisoft has opted to restore the password of the entire company for its employees. The IT team of Ubisoft is now working with external teams to try to investigate the matter, but some more details were offered.
“Last week, Ubisoft experienced an incident of cyber security that caused a temporary interruption of some of our games, systems and services,” Ubisoft said in a Declaration to VGC. “Our IT teams are working with the main external experts to investigate the problem. As a precautionary measure, we started a password restoration throughout the company. In addition, we can confirm that all our games and services work normally and that at this moment there is no evidence that any personal information of the player was accessed or exposed as a byproduct of this incident “.
It is not clear if this was an attack on the study or a problem that occurred internally. We will continue to monitor the situation and if Ubisoft discovers new information, we will make sure to update it.
