After 24 years at the 1st FSV Mainz 05 Christian Heidel joined FC Schalke in the summer of 2016. The manager now reminded of the change.
“It was a difficult decision. For me, at the time at that time,” Heidel said to the “picture” newspaper and added: “I have left my baby, even if the club was long out of the baby age.”
